2021 Water for People Night Event a Huge Success
The Northwest and Southwest Districts held the annual Water for People fundraising event on July 31 at the Phillies and Pirates baseball game, played at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. Rachael Beam, Engineering Manager of Pennsylvania American Water Company, organized the event. The event had 12 sponsors and 124 tickets were sold, raising over $3,400 for Water for People. Friends and families of PA Section AWWA members gathered for free food and beverages at a tailgate held prior to the game, provided courtesy of Evoqua and Aqua- Aerobic. As a special treat, free Pirates hats were donated to the group and handed out to attendees, along with “rally towels” that identified all the sponsors. A 50/50 raffle also was held. Scoreboard messages thanking the Home Run sponsors were displayed at the bottom of the 4th inning.
