Coming up on AWIA Deadlines
We are quickly approaching upcoming deadlines under the America’s Water Infrastructure Act (AWIA) so I wanted to send a few reminders. I am attempting to reach large and medium water suppliers, but it is possible others end up in these email groups.
If you are a large water supplier, serving 100,000 or more persons, the certification that your Emergency Response Plan (ERP) has been updated is due to EPA by September 30, 2020. [You all did a great job meeting the Risk and Resilience certification deadline this past March. Thank you.] Please use the online portal to the extent possible given that staff are still teleworking and you will receive credit much quicker via the online tool.
If you are a medium water supplier, serving 50,000 to 99,999 persons, the certification that the Risk and Resilience Assessment was completed is due to EPA by December 30, 2020. Then the certification for your ERP is due 6 months later.

Ensure the person registering for or logging into your account is also the certifying official for the community water system.

Happy to help answer your questions or point you to other resources. EPA staff are currently teleworking and available to assist.
