We wanted to let you know that today the Environmental Quality Board (EQB) adopted the Final Rulemaking RE: PFAS MCL Rule by a vote of 15 to 3 with the alternates for Chairman Metcalfe (Glendon King), Chairman Yaw (Nick Troutman), and the Citizen Advisory Council (John St. Clair) voting in the negative.
Glendon indicated that the Chairman believes that is would be best to wait for the EPA to adopt MCLs at the federal level. Nick echoed Glendon’s remarks and also expressed concern over the cost of compliance to their communities.
The rulemaking will now go to IRRC and the standing committees.
